STUDY INVITATION & VISA

Students who will be enrolled in a course of study in Russia need to apply for a Russian student visa and need an original official student visa invitation to support the visa application. In order to apply for a Russian student visa, you will need an original invitation provided by the host institution (school or university) in Russia obtained from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The original Russia invitation must be attached to the Russian visa application; scanned, emailed or faxed copies of the Russian student invitation are not accepted. This process can take a long time, so it is important to be in contact with the Russian host institution well in advance so that there is time to obtain the visa.

In order to apply for studying in a Russian University, an applicant should go through the following admissions procedure:

1st step (Application): Submit detailed application form on-line or send a filled-in application form by e-mail (or fax) to EuropaVisa Student Visa HelpLine (studentvisa@europavisa.com) with the following documents in the attachment:

  • copy of your international passport

  • copies of your educational documents (certified translation into Russian is not required if the document is issued in English or French)

  • medical certificate received not earlier than 3 months prior to the date of submission of the documents proving the absence of contra-indications for study in Russia, and the results of an AIDS test

2nd step (Contract): In case the set of documents provided is accepted by any of ou partnered Universities, you will be informed by an admissions officer and receive a study contract by email. You should sign the contract and send it back to us via (studentvisa@europavisa.com).

3rd step (Payment of fees): In accordance with international practice you must pay your tuition fees before your arrival at the University. This can be done by bank transfer to the University’s account (you will find the account number in your contract). In this case you pay the fee under the registered study contract at your local bank and send a copy of receipt to the University.

4th step (Invitation and visa): In case all the recruitments stipulated in the Contract are fulfilled and your payment of fees is confirmed, the University addresses the Federal Migration Service (FMS) of Russia to launch the invitation process. The FMS issues an invitation letter approximately 4 weeks after the University`s official request. The original invitation letter is required in order to obtain a student visa at the local Russian Embassy.
